Ack! I'm back! Did you miss me? School starts back up tomorrow and I figured this was as good a time as any to get back into the swing of my journal duties. I'll fill you in on my summer first. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to New York. I was hoping to, but after Marine Biology ended (which I got a C in and I'm happy about that) I just couldn't make it happen. Soon, hopefully. Shows that might have started happened over the summer didn't happen, either. Finding a theatre and getting acts together proved more difficult than originally planned. Hopefully soon we'll be able to get going on that project, again. I bought a brand new computer. I don't know much (go or stay) about computers but I do know that this is extremely fast and fast is good with me. I also got a 19 inch monitor which I am in love with. Also, on topic of computers, I'm currently building a brand new website which should prove just as popular, if not more so, than the SSS. More on that when I can tell you anything else... Recently, I was hired to write for a new online design magazine. When that site goes live, I'll let you know. Someone apparently dropped off the edge of the Earth this summer. I'm dealing with it. I'm hoping if they ever make it back they'll get in touch with me as I don't like bugging people when they do this as I assume they intended the drop... Dax leaves for New York City in an hour. He's going to be spending a semester at Hunter College in the city. We're all really excited. Mostly, though, we're jealous. Throw in a lot of being sad that he's on the other side of the country and that's how we're feeling now. He came over a little bit ago to say goodbye and get some contact information for some of my friends in New York. Already, even before he left California, he's been contacted by the casting people at Broadway's The Lion King. Somehow, if his experience is anything like mine, I don't see him moving back to California very easily. Looks like I'll have to get over there myself to see him again. Keep crossing your fingers... Dax loves seeing his name in my journal. When he gets unpacked and finds a computer he best start thanking me for writing about him like I am. So my senior year starts in the morning. I'm taking a bunch of Theatre Arts classes, a math class, and a Philosophy class. Auditions for the fall season (The Heidi Chronicles and the original production of Die, Die, Diana a new musical) are on the 8th. Things are about to go full swing and I'm excited about that. - mark |
