I got this email from a friend of my brother's who worked at SRT a few years ago:


I hope you like acting on a 1 inch to the foot raked stage. :-)

SRT is hell... It's good hell though and you'll be better for it...

The first two or three weeks will be intense, but fun. It gets increasingly less fun after that until the last show is opened. Once all the shows are up and running everything calms down to a low roar, until strike. As an actor you don't have to deal with strike (much) so that's good. If you live through it you'll look back it it with much fondness...

Be ready to hit the ground running. [Five] near-Broadway sized shows in [11] weeks, the first opening some 4 weeks or so into the season, leaves no time to ramp up.


So, I leave next Tuesday evening for Santa Rosa and hit the ground running next Wednesday morning. I'm looking forward to it. If you're looking forward to actually seeing some of these shows, and I know many of you have let me know you plan on coming to see them, here's what I know:

  • Grease: June 20, 22, 23, 24, 25; July 6*, 6, 17*, 21, 25*, 25, 30*; August 3*, 3, 6*, 6

  • Charley's Aunt: June 26, 27, 29, 30; July 1, 2, 11, 20, 23, 24*, 29, 31, 31*)

  • The Visit: July 2, 3, 4*, 4, 7, 11*, 11, 20, 23, 24, 29, 31*, 31)

  • Laughter on the 23rd Floor: July 8, 9, 10*, 10, 13, 15, 16, 18*, 18, 22, 27, 28, 30; August 1*, 1, 4

  • The Will Rogers Follies: (July 14, 15, 16, 18*, 18, 22, 27*, 27, 28; August 1*, 1, 4, 5, 7*, 7

* denotes matinees


Showtimes:

Matinees (2:00pm); Tues-Sat (8:00pm); Sun. Evening (7:30p)
