mark, my words

May 8, 1998

Seeing as how the Tony Awards are in one month, I think it's about time for Mark's annual Pick the Tony Picks Before They Pick 'Em rundown. Following is a list of this years Tony Award nominees. My picks for who will win (not neccesarily who deserves to) are bolded. Note, as well, that last June I predicted that Brian Stokes Mitchell would take home Best Actor in a Musical. I still am sticking to this prediction but wouldn't be surprised at all if Alan Cumming were to slip in and take it. As well, note that I saw none of these productions on Broadway this season. I did, however, see Ragtime pre-Broadway...

Tune in on PBS and then CBS on the evening of June the 7th to see just how I make out this year. Two years ago I predicted all but one, last year all but three.

Went out with Joey tonight. We went to see the City of Angels movie. The movie was nice. Wonderful to look at. Interesting to think about. After the movie we went for some coffee and walked around Barnes and Nobles. We wound up in the kid section and sat on the floor to read old favorites like Where the Wild Things Are. "It's the little things you do together..."

I don't want to say too much about how things are going as I know that a lot of people read this. I'll leave tonight saying that I really want things to work out. I think they very well could. I feel good, comfortable, happy - like I'm walking on the clouds - when I'm with her. I don't know if she's as comfortable up here with me as I am. If not, life goes on and I'll always remember what it was like. If she does, I don't wanna' come down anytime soon. I think the ball's in her court now. As long as she does what she needs to do and is comfortable, I'll be fine.

- mark
